Moped Army

I have wanted a moped forever since I saw one as a kid. After thinking it over for many years I decided to give in and get one to help improve my mobility since I am a non-car driver. As well as to replace my Fuji Mountain bike.

I recently ordered a Tomos ST and it is expected to arrive sometime next week. I have been trying to read as much as I can about mopeds but I am still not very clear on a few things. And I want to ensure that I do everything right so that I can keep it in super great condition for many many years to come. I look at it as an investment and something I plan to use for cross country trips.

What oil does everyone recommend the most? The ST doesn't require me to pre-mix the oil and gas together. So I just need a good oil to put in the oil tank that is of good quality. I am concerned about using the wrong kind and screwing up the ped.

Any good helmet and jacket recommendations? I am looking for good ideas to help with safety but also looking for stuff that is somewhat affordable because my budget is currently limited.

Turtle wax good for protecting the paint job or is there something better that is used for mopeds?

Or any other random tips, tricks etc.
