Proper break-in procedures?
I just got the PA-50 engine together with a new cylinder and piston. It fired right up after I cleaned the carb and put in fresh gas, now I would like to know the best thing to do to break in those freshly machined surfaces. I did put oil on the moving parts during assembly, and put a richer, 20:1 mixture in the tank. When I rebuilt my four-strokes, I just let it run at medium speed with no load, then rode gently for the first while. Then I heard that the rings like to be driven hard during break in. I don't know about that. What is the best thing to do for a 2-stroke engine?
