Any mopeders in the Netherlands? laws, etc.

Kris Kris (mobytick) — Mar 01, 2003 04:01PM

My wife and I are thinking about moving to the Netherlands. Once I get the Feds off of my back here in the US, we want to move to a country where the goverment is more friendly to its citizens, and more respectful of privacy and individual rights. We are trying to learn about the laws of immigration, and how to find employment for immigrants from the US.

I am also wondering what the laws are regarding mopeds, because we are both moped riders. We are in our 30's, so age is not an issue. We just wonder about whether you have to register a moped, does it need a license plate, do you need a moped driver's license, can we bring our mopeds from the US and ride them ther? Also, can you ride your moped on all of those wonderful bicycle roads that go all over the country?

I have spent several months in the netherlands, when I was 15 and when I was 18. My mother lived there for several years, and I visited her. She lived in Dordtrecht, Utrecht, Den Haag and Rotterdam. So I know more about the country than the average tourist, and can even read a little Nederlanse if I try hard.

Id like to hear from anyone about any of these things. You can email me:

Bedankt-
