That's correct. I was able to use my Magnum race for my maxi EBRs on my mini mag, however. Not sure what's going on with yours here. But you will need shorter allen bolts to mount the handlebars lest they run up against the race. Make sure the top race is screwed down nice and tight to make room for the top fork nut to fit in.
