if your ped is "minty" and you dont want it to get fucked up, keep it at home, and buy a beat to hell tomos or puch or what have you. make sure the mechanicals are in good working order, get a big ass "fuck off" lock/etc and sleep easy at night knowing that noone will try and fuck with it (if it looks shitty enough).

OR, make friends with the cops / security / etc around your dorm, they will recognize you as the "moped guy" and if anyone ever tries to fuck with your shit, you will have a team of ass kickers ready to help you.
