Re: Moped in College Dorm
For almost two years I've been storing mopeds and a Whizzer ten feet from my bed, in a room adjoining my bedroom. I leave the storage room's outside door and the windows open for circulation. I close the lightweight pocket door between the bedroom and the adjoining storage room.
I also made sure that _none_ of the bikes leak, and placed a cardboard mat and a pan underneath to catch any drippings.
I can see however, that the fuel vapors just crawl up and out from under the caps on their tanks.
There isn't a pilot flame within 25 feet, but there is a lot of dry air static. When I touch a bike, fearing static, I touch something like the handlebars or something up high on the bike first. I also keep extinguishers handy at all times.
Keep the air moving in any storage area, or the vapor can build up.
I don't have any attached adjoining neighbors. I don't smoke near the bikes either, unless I'm riding.
