2008 Tomos Sprint: Pegs to pedals.

I'm looking to buy a 2008 Tomos Sprint with a kick start and pegs. I would prefer pedals and am wondering what it takes to convert it?
Would I need a new tranny+engine?
trying to see if its worth it.
