JJ- the metal bar is a Frame brace that is suposed to stiffen up the frame on kitted bikes (so I hear). I can't say for sure whether the brace helps, but the bike does feel a tad bit different when I ride...or maybe its just me.
why would I trip over it? I don't know anyone who mounts thier bike like a step through.....I always swing my leg up and go over the back. the seat is only like 24" off the ground..LOL
