Every moped is different and there is no real documented consensus of what works, what doesn't and what does what. A good portion of moped tuning is theory, mixed with experimentation and trial and error. Many people are using parts/materials that were never designed for mopeds in the first place. That's why you end up with a dozen methods of doing the same thing. For example we can take established information for two stroke motorcycle performance from books by Jennings, but this information doesn't always adapt to moped use.
Obviously it would be cool if someone with a bike and a dyno tested every available oil/part and gave a complete rundown but that would take lots of money and equipment. That's probably why you only see detailed documentation for the most popular things, harleys, honda civics, vw aircooled, etc. Mopeds are total fringe, gray area.
