MOST cops dont care about the flag law, but if they DO, theyll get you. the fine is like $74 + a $50 court fee
that said i STILL never ride with a flag.
iowa is a gamble, ive ridden with the wrong plate, NO plate, no flag, ALWAYS with no insurance and i've only been busted ONCE
however that ONE time my bike was impounded and i got 3 tickets.
you just have to be careful. also theres no helmet law, but i kinda think if you DO wear a helmet they tend to be more lenient. now that i actually (usually) wear a full-face helmet, cops never give me a second look.
