Building a "Girl Ped"
I'm constantly getting people telling me they want to buy a "reliable moped". Makes me want to tell them to go ride a unicorn.
I got a message about a friend of a friend looking for a "cool moped", my brother called his friend to find out more, and basically started exaggerating the quality of the only bike we currently have, a parts bike, just to see what this girl was looking for/ willing to pay.
What I realized from the conversation he had was; there are people out there who just want to ride and have fun, and will pay far out the ass to have me make it cool, and keep it reliable.
So our parts bike is now officially the project bike. We're building a "girl bike". I've got a fresh color scheme and I'm hammering out the performance specs, making a list of parts I need. This thing is gonna be built for aesthetics and reliability, which is kind of a departure from the normal pursuit of function and speed.
Who else has undertaken such an endeavor? What kind of price tag goes on a bike that's a complete restore/rebuild?
