Found: Montgomery Ward $75 Should I?
Found it in the same shop that I found the Motobecane for 75...
It's also going for 75 bucks, it's a 1964 Montgomery Wards Riverside... Red and White.
The motor is in pieces, and rusty. But the sheet-metal is all in great shape.
Beautiful frame, tank, seatpan, and do-dads. I don't think it's entirely complete however.
I may ask the guy if I could do both bikes for 120, or so. He may go for it, who knows.
I think that if I got this ped I would try to customize it with either a Puch, or Tomos motor. Only because it'd be damn near impossible to get original parts for it. (Might be a fun project as well.)
Sorry to insult the fine craftsmanship of ancient, peds...
Maybe I could even sell it to a collector, or someone one here if the price is right.
I would love to make a old-frame, new technology bike though.... hrm... we'll have to wait and see...
