moped stalls

hey,
my 1978 puch maxi used to run like crap, but i had the carb cleaned thoroughly, and now it runs beautifully. the only problem is that if it idles even for 3 seconds it shuts off. this sucks at stop signs and stuff, cuz i gotta peddle and give it gas to start it. any help? what do you think the problem is?
