Honda engine IDs

Anyone know if the '88 Honda Elite SB50 engine is the same as the '86 and '87 Honda Spree NQ50? Bikes are similar, engines "appear" similar. Know that Honda was not above using same engine in consecutive years on differently named bikes while changing the letters on the engine (like NQ, SB, NC etc.). Was curious if they did same with the NQ and SB.
