Moped Army

I'll assume that they are nicer, but do they make a difference? I've got hills around me, not too bad right next to me but hills around nevertheless. Does having a lower gear for when the going gets tough really make a difference?

Also: what models have this? I'm not finding gobs of info on the web; I'm not looking to buy new but I'm hoping that at some point in time I'll stumble across a good deal on a moped. I know Tomos have 2spds, and some Puch's, but beyond that...
