isn’t that the point, its like v8 muscle car guys laughing at turboed civics. Kinetics arent so bad either, I like my TFR just as much as my Avanti supersport.
Just make sure you loc-tited everything before you wizz off there smitty, it’s insane but definately cool.

The Malossi is very cool, and very impressive … but, this Evo’ has one helluva intake, reed valve, and 19mm racing carb. As much as I do indeed love the Malossi and am greatly impressed and pleased by it, I think this Evo’ engine will be really tough to beat.
I hope to finish all of the little odds-n-ends with this installation today, get’ er running, of course do a video of the ride, and then box this baby and send it home to its owner.

This just goes to show though, that even a Kinetic TFR can be turned into a Monster Moped, hehehe ;^)

Benji … BECAUSE it’s a Kinetic, hehehe!!!
You have to admit, a Polini Evolution engine, along with a variator, on a Kinetic TFR … CRRAAZZZZZYYY !!!

This engine belongs to Hank B., who is installing it in a Vespa Grande.
If you all will remember back, I posted about the brass bushing in the top connecting rod journal, in kitted engines. The engine that we’ve built this one to replace, had a 70cc top-end, and was just not performing even close to Hank’s expectations of it. The wristpin bushing was walking out of the connecting rod :(
Hank and I wrestled with several ideas, and eventually decided to “go all out” and build something that he will be very impressed with, and last a very long time of crazy fun!
Since I truly hate building engines that I can’t crank and run before sending them home, I had to come up with some way of hearing and feeling this Monster run! Since I am still working on my prototype TFR-Racer, I figured it’d be a perfect candidate for testing these high-performance Vespa engines that I’m building.
I did buy more locktite too by the way, LOL!!!

I think I’m as excited as the rest of you guys about this engine, it hasn’t quite sunk in yet that it’s going in MY bike! AH!

I’ll probably get yelled at for saying this, but this bike isn’t going to be set up as a racer (at least not yet). For the next two years it has to be a kick-ass people carrier (girlfriend in tow).

I did however order the taller gearing from angelo, so I guess my top speed shouldn’t be too far off during solo rides (I think mid-fifties on a flat might be nice, how about you?).

As soon as I can find an f’ing digital camera I’ll start posting pics. I just got my parts back from the powdercoater 2 days ago, and the bike is mostly assembled. DAMN it looks hot. It’s almost to the point where I need another bike so I never have to leave this one alone away from home. But, I guess I can’t have EVERYTHING.

Thanks for all your interest guys, and I’ll keep you posted when I get this thing put in the bike.
Hank

How’d you get the variator on there? Is that the rear wheel from a bravo?

The variator is from an old Kinetic Magnum, I think… I got it from Troy a while back.

Yes, it’s insane… I planned on buying a kinetic before I found my Tomos and I had to help pedal the thing up hills while it ran…. I mean 10mph uphill is like sad…. I don’t even think the speedo was right, it felt like 5mph. I’m just surprised it didn’t vibrate to pieces. It’s innovative and edgy and does look badass though. Just a kinetic, who’d have thought!

Does anybody know what belt he used to do this, and where I can find one? I am in the middle of a full project and really need to find this belt.
