Cosmo warantee Claim Form

I got a TFR Last week and the chrome ring around the speedo
was dented and the speedo glass was shattered.
I go into the Cosmopolitan motors website to try to figure
out how to do a warantee claim and this is what is says:
*To obtain a current Warranty Claim form, call Cosmopolitan Motors Inc. Warranty at 1-800-523-2522
Once Cosmopolitan Motors Inc. Warranty receives this Warranty Claim form complete with no missing items, Cosmopolitan Motors Inc. will then notify the Dealer within 5 working days of its acceptance and or rejection of its Warranty Claim
If the submitted Warranty Claim is accepted, Cosmopolitan Motors Inc. will then issue a Warranty Authorization Number to proceed in making the repairs as noted on the claim*
What kind of service is this?
They have a website!! Why can’t the form be on the website
and submitted electronically.
I have to request a form, they mail it to me, I fill it out, mail it back to them, they read it to make sure it’s complete, then review it, then do something within 5 days after that, maybe?
It sounds like the whole proces could take 3-4 freaking weeks!
Ridiculous

bathing suit :-)

Spence,
I got the response from Colette about your inquiry, I have everything handled its just a matter of shipping it you.
I do need to advise anyone that orders, again, this is not actually something that we even needed to deal with, this was shipping damage, it states clearly on the box that you are responsible for inspecting the contents before you sign for it. If I were to follow my own rules, (I handle the warranties here) I would have had to charge you for the Speedo, BUT you are Moped Army people, and I am personally taking the hit for this one.
As far as a Warranty claim form, I want people to call me, I have everyone’s warranty form sitting next to me in a filing cabinet, this way I can manage the warranties accordingly. I have only ever had one problem with dealing with warranty issues, and that was a guy that tried to get one over on us, he called everyone in the building not thinking we all communicate with each other.
To obtain a current Warranty Claim form, call Cosmopolitan Motors Inc.
If the submitted Warranty Claim is accepted, Cosmopolitan Motors Inc. will then issue a Warranty Authorization Number to proceed in making the repairs as noted on the claim
The reasoning behind this, is because too many people were trying to buck the system, what you are reading is more geared to shops not for people doing their own work, hence again the phone calling part. If I can do it over the phone the part will ship as per usual, if its a shop that has a bunch of repairs I need to know part numbers, bike, customer name, vin number etc… for a bike owner all I need to do is check to see if your are up to date, and if not I can add you with the knowledge that you will be sending in your warranty form.
Again I have no problem handling this, but wish next time you contact me first before coming here and complaining about something that could have been resolved via e-mail or phone. That goes for anyone here, if you have a problem with anything about Cosmo, come to me first, I will personally handle your issue all the way through a resolution.

And FYI if you are going to Quote the Warranty, please do not leave parts out.
Warranty Claim Process
Service Center is to assess the problem and estimate parts by submitting a Warranty Claim form to Cosmopolitan Motors Inc.
To obtain a current Warranty Claim form, call Cosmopolitan Motors Inc.
If the submitted Warranty Claim is accepted, Cosmopolitan Motors Inc. will then issue a Warranty Authorization Number to proceed in making the repairs as noted on the claim
After the Warranty Claim is authorized, Cosmopolitan Motors Inc. Parts Department will then send the dealer the necessary parts to make the repairs.
Cosmopolitan Motors Inc. may request for parts to be returned, if requested, customer is responsible to pay for return shipment. Cosmopolitan Motors Inc. will pay to supply replacement parts shipping charges for UPS ground or Ground Trucking, any other Express shipment is the responsibility of the customer.
Labor charges are the responsibility of the customer.

I sent an email, requesting these parts, I waited for two days and got no response or even a confirmation of receipt of
my email. Thats when I went to the Cosmo site and read the apparent hoops I needed to jump through.
Only then did I post.
I’m glad you are going to take care of it, I appreciate it.
But the question still remains, why not make it easier on the customer by having an online form.
It would be a big improvement in customer service.
Someone could print the form out and mail it to you,
or fill it out online and submit it electronically.
Please consider this.
God’s Peace

I understand your pain on the web site issue, I am working on the web page improvements, I will consider your suggestion.
You sent in a service request, was there an auto response after you hit send? That’s the only thing I can come up with as to why it took so long for someone to respond. If I dont get it directly I have to depend on someone else forwarding it to me.
Please if you havent already sent it in, send me your warranty slip, I haven’t looked yet to see if it’s here.

Thanks!
I sent in my warantee card two days ago, but I live in
South Carolina so you will either have it Sat. or maybe Mon.
There was no auto response after I hit send.
Thanks again for taking care of this.
Peace

Not trying to stir up the bucket but: how is it that Cosmo’s warranty states that labor is the customer’s problem whereas Tomos covers the whole deal? Is it due to that Cosmo is more distro than a dealer support? Anyone can get a tomos and have any Tomos dealer remedy the problem. And there are Tomos dealers in the high hundreds if not thousands.Wouldn’t at least part of all them try to “buck the system”? Maybe some do but a company doesn’t get to be in business for 50 years by not factoring that in.And how about service bulletins? Tomos has already sent out A55 upgrade kits to fix the dying and stumbling problem. The kits are here, only just waiting for bikes to be ordered and bought and claims to be made. but as far as “damaged shipment”. sometimes you can’t even tell until the delivery guy’s long gone and the boxes opened and thrown away. At the shop on a few occasions we have seen perfectly intact boxes and broken mirrors, cut tires, split grips, and cut oil lines. On the other hand we’ve had totally trashed boxes and had the bikes come out without a scratch. but the lesson is Save the receipt, and get EVERYTHING in writing. Promises on the phone are good but for the fly-by-night places that’s about the only way they can get people through the door. Kinda makes me think of someone getting slipped a roofie in their drink…

Labor is the customer’s “problem” as there isn’t a dealer to take it to—period. And if you’re driving a ‘pedand can’t figure out how to fix the darn thing, walk!
Putting in a replacement speedo isn’t rocket science.
And as to shiping damage—DON’T let the shipper leave until the box is opened and checked for damage UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!
Went through that with my TFR when the A-holes shipped it on it’s side, and glad I did! No damage, but I made sure the shipper heard about it!
