Now that I know you have a 2001 Tomos Sprint, and I know how your generator/magneto is wired – my conclusion is that you cannot use a full-wave bridge rectifier. If you do, you will fry the rectifier, or worse yet, your generator.
The key is that your generator/magneto has two internal wires which are tied to ground. The only way you can use a full-wave bridge rectifier is if your generator/magneto has an isolated ground. Your bike does not have an isolated ground system. The generator, the magneto, and the electrical loads are all tied to ground.
A full-wave bridge rectifier is used for “separately derived systems”, meaning that the output is not in any way electrically connected to the input. On your bike, one of the AC inputs will be tied to ground.
I don’t have more time this morning to provide further help – but I didn’t want you to fry your bike. It may work if you change your bikes wiring so that all loads have return ground wires – haven’t look at this in detail to answer for sure.
