true they are not the same but on a lot of exhausts (like the one mentioned) the stinger is built into the silencer (for better looks??).

but sam u r wrong. the stinger is between the silencer and the expansion chamber. take a look at Peters profile, the stinger is the skinny part between the expansion chamber and the silencer.
