I did not suggest that you remove your battery. I was saying that if your battery is in poor condition (won’t take a charge, won’t hold a charge), it can cause poor voltage regulation – causing too high a voltage at high RPM.
Fuses are designed in various ways. A slo-blo fuse allows larger amounts of current for a time. It delays the blowing of the fuse. A fast-blo has no delay. I don’t know what type of fuse you have (a 1/4” barrel, or a spade, or ???). If a fast-blo fuse is available for your fuse type, then that’s what I recommend. A slo-blo could allow too much current for a longer amount of time . . . .
