estorils, despite the good midrange, are screamers, especially on a bigger cylinder. the porting and displacement will have a huge effect on the characteristics of the pipe, estorils run fast on big cylinders. A simonini or big homo would definitely get you more top end.

the carbureation approaches a point of diminishing returns, going from 19-24 wont make you much faster without super aggressive porting, especially on the intake side of a piston-port cylinder. I’m sure tommy’s 70 mph bike (if its anything like the pictures i’ve seen of his metra 65 jug) is complete swiss cheese. I dont think a stock ported mk80 would flow a 24 very well at all, but all those west coast guys love to over carbureate… they are the ones going 60-70, so i guess i cant argue.
