you can put the old points stator and flywheel on the 82 motor, bolt it up and go.. as far as i know. i have a 1980 motor in my 83, i simply put the cdi stuff on the older motor and it runs perfectly.

if you want to use the cdi system you’re going to need to use the whole wiring harness from the 82

i may be interested in some other parts from that 82, namely a blinker lens :)
