Metrakit Eureka!

This weekend, my new proma GP arrived. In the process of putting it on, I ripped the exhaust gasket (unbeknownst to me). After putting it on I could hear an air leak, but at the time couldn’t figure out where it was coming from. I tore everything down and made new base gaskets. When I put the cylinder back on, I noticed the piston wasn’t clearing the intake all of the way at tdc. I pulled the piston off and shaved that extra (2 – 3 mm maybe) off the skirt. I know the new pipe changes things too, but I had a biturbo on there and the proma is more low end. I now am breaking 40mph where before I was running 37 – 38. I didn’t GPS it yet, but my speedo is within a 1 mph or 2 and I had the needle pegged tonight. I think I solved my metrakit blues!
