You can get a PA50 going plenty fast. There’s a whole bunch on the cylinder skit that blocks the path of the gas to the cylinder. That stuff could go. The ring gaps are on the top of the piston so the exhaust port can be widened all the way to the side transfers in the cylinder.

And watch out for those springs. I put some in a month or two ago and it was fun but a whole lot touchier. You had to rev to almost half throttle to get the crank to grab the clutch plate. I the first ride I did after putting them on almost made me dump the bike it took off so fast. One night it started having problems. I would rev all the way to full throttle and it wouldn’t catch. I took off my variator and the inside of it (where the clutch grabs it) was as shiny as a mirror. I think the problem was it wore some of the variator bell off and got too slick (?) So I put the old ones back on and it runs fine. It was a fun experiment though.
