Increasing Sachs Compression Ratio

Alright, lets dig up the ‘ol 505-1A! I’m proposing to omit the base gasket on my 505-1A in order to try approach that 30mph mark. Understanding that this will shorten the duration of my intake and retard it slightly I believe the increased compression will outweigh this negative affect. Has anyone tried this? I do have an extra cylinder so I can nudge the intake ports just a touch to correct this. Jafars, Andrewhed: I hope to hear from you on this ;)
