i’ve always been of the belief you should break in chrome pretty hard.

using too many base gaskets will give you a boggy low end because when you add base gaskets you change your port timing. only put as many as you need to keep from hitting the head.

with a hi-comp head you probably want that gasket, especially for a first time kitting, you’ll be less likely to detonate.

you’ll have to run synthetic 2t oil and premium (93) too. possibly back off your timing a degree or two.
