man, sounds like ignition to me, just breaking up real bad. i think it would be dam near impossible to 4 stroke the whole way thru the rpm range, even if it was too rich/lean it would HAVE to run decent at some point in the throttle opening (0-1/4, 1/4-1/2….) how close is your coil to the CDI? i have heard/ read about too much magnetic interference fucking them up. try to move the coil as far away as possible, or throw points back in just to confirm. either way i put 20.00 on an ignition problem. piston in the right way? i was in a rush once and just before i bolted the head on, the arrow was in the wrong direction. just a thought…..
