umm wtf. so i just put this motor together. everything is new so it could be any part thats got a problem…..
as you can see in the vid it sounds like 4 stroking right? i have tried jetting from 80-96 (19mm phbg) and while some feel a little better they all do this. the weirdest part is the bike runs BETTER with the choke on. not a lot but its noticeable. i have internal rotor ignition the honda 50 kind. and im sure that the timing is spot on.
it seems to only take major effect in certain powerbands. bottom end is ok not great but ok. low mid is great, mid is fucked, mid mid high is kinda ok and WOT is totally fucked.
i have tried a couple different settings, with air filter of and on, adjusted the mixture screw to no avail. This is on a 50cc reedvalve athena kit. i checked for leaks, well kinda. i used WD40. i always use carb cleaner but i figured it was similar enough. anyway no leaks. i used gasket sealant everywhere.
