I don’t know how you all are setting them up and maybe this isn’t the case but the piston has to come down all the way to just past the exhaust port to cool the rings at bdc. If theres any ring showing at bdc when you look into the exhaust port its not gonna cool against the cylinder wall. I don’t know how many base gaskets it takes on a polini but on my metrakit I had to use all the gaskets it came with and still make one or two out of sheet metal to get it to that point.
