As far as I know from all the recent research Ive done on the A55 and A35 motors, the A35 is a reedvalve engine and the A55 is not. If the kit comes with the reedvalve then you will have converted to the A35 end of the setup. The reedvalve intake has four bolts, and I think the A55 intake has 2. If it is a reedvalve you can get some two stage reeds for it, Ive ordered mine from dealshq on ebay, but they are made by Boyesen, search in yahoo and you can buy directly from them… I am guessing the kit came with a new carb, you may need to make a new throttle cable unless it came with that as well. May want some extra jets to play around with too. The install is simple, take the head off, take the cylinder off, keep the engine upright so you dont spill the gear oil. If you want replace the gear oil to get a fresh start. Take the piston off, there will be two clips on each side of the piston pull them out with needle nosed pliers. I would put a plastic bag in the case opening under the piston so you dont drop anything in there (like a clip). Then you take the piston pin out, put the new piston on and the clips in on each side, make sure the clips are seated well. The arrow on the piston should point towards the exhaust. Make sure the piston rings are alligned with the little pins in the piston ring slots, that way when they are squized they dont snap and fill the slot all the way. Clean all the surfaces and put a new cylinder gasket on, make sure it sits well, if it doesnt it may be upside down. Take alittle 2stroke oil and lightly lube the inside of the new cylinder, this will help the piston slide in without breaking the rings and help with the first startup. Have your friend slowly lower the new cylinder while you GENTLY guilde the piston into it, make sure the piston rings dont shift when you do this (some cylinders will have slots at the bottom to make this easier). Once both rings are in slowly slide the cylinder all the way down and make sure it seats well. Now all you need to do is put the new head on. Clean the surfaces, put a new gasket on if it comes with one and slide the new head on, bolt it down (id use locktite on the bolts) and do NOT overtighten you can crush the gasket and or break the studs (you break one and it all needs to be redone…). Now slowly rotate the engine to see if it moves without catching, put the motor in the moped, and hook everything back up. Before the first startup put a drop or two of twostroke oil in the cylinder so you dont damage the rings, rotate a few times then start it. Should be fine.
