It’s not bad but the translation reads alittle funny, maybe there is something out there on an English site under CVT continuosly variable transmission, which is the Anglo-American term, variator is the French term. As they mention they are popular with scooters, they are also popular with a Canadian invention called a SkiDoo or snowmobile, I seem to remember those using dual pulleys in some instances. I was correct, in part, about the setup, the pulleys change diameter in opposite directions related to enagine and rear wheel RPM. It doesn’t look like it would be that difficult to build with the right tools.
