The answer is almost always a definite yes. with enough ingenuity, literally anything can be done. don’t you get bored reading the same “does this work on this” thread every day? i wish whenever anyone buys a moped, the first thing someone tells them is nothing ever bolts up. there is always some cutting or grinding to make something work. sometimes there’s just more then other times. here’s list of things that work on other things. none of these things are as easy as a biturbo upgrade speed party pack but they are very doable. please stop asking about it. if anyone has a clever thing to add please chime in.
yes, puch kits work on tomos and vice versa.
puch kits work on derbi piston port engines.
that meansssss tomos kits work on derbi piston port engines ADUH. see what i’m getting at here?
tomos, peugeot, puch, derbi and honda hobbit alllllll have the same ignition side taper on the crank. that means with some WORK you can swap ignitions.
Motobecane clutchless variators fit on puch cranks.
motobecane bearings fit in hobbit cases.
peugeot bearings fit in za50’s
minarelli clutchbells fit ktm50 clutch’s
ktm50 clutchs are the same taper as puch.
peugeot and moby clutch pulley’s are swapable. use springs to shim.
peugeot, moby and hobbits all have very similar headtube lengths for forks.
puch top cranks MUST has a circlip grove machined into them or you will have seal leaks after a little while
K-star and DMP are the same thing. sometimes one is nicer then the other because of the individual run of the part. not the brand. they are just lables for compaies in china that mass produce shitty moped parts. the “treats” kit is just that.
almost all point gaps should be set from .35-.45 mm.
launch levers are not “4 race”
GPS is a satellite based navigation system. not the “your speed” sign down the street from your house or your friends new iphone app. i’m looking at you florida.
before porting your cylinder for blasting, you should read as much as you can.
copper sealent is best for heads.
run as cold as a plug as you can without fouling out.
never run your dellorto needle at the bottom clip with a w7. you will seize your bike.
derbi’s are scooter’s. and are awesome.
new jersey sucks.
derbi piston port, pyramid read, tomos, puch and motobecane all have 43m strokes. pa50, peugeot, derbi flatreed are all really close.
derbi, hobbit, puch and tomos head bolt spacing is all close enough to not have to move the studs. just open the holes.
i’m sure i’m missing stuff.
any questions? use the search function. i want to see some super mash up bikes this year. get building.
