simple tjt variator question - honda pa50ii

i just got done installing a tjt variator in my pa50ii.
my question is…
do i reuse my plastic guides from my stock setup?
the only problem is that when i put them on the ramp plate, it’s very tight and can barely move. doesn’t seem right.
and i’m sure as hell you don’t run without them.
my tjt never came with plastic variator guides, so… what do i do? what did you do?
please help me with this simple question!
