Magnum XK where to begin upgrades / angled exhaust

I’ve never upgraded anything. I’m fairly new.
This moped goes 22mph tops. i want more speed (no shit).
has stock everything.
E50 engine
12mm(ithink) bing(i know) carb
stock pipe
etc.
i want to go faster and i know there are a variety of things i could do,
however, i want everything to correspond with everything else in the future/
eg. if i buy a pipe first, i want it to eventually match the kit i will buy
in the future, that will match the carb that i might buy in the further future.
where do i begin?
carb or exhaust or kit or something else?

Angled Exhausts…
also, i’m not so clear about an ‘angled exhaust port’ which apparently most
magnums have and thus make it a little more tricky to add a pipe to a
stock engine. from the looks of mine, where the pipes connects, it doesn’t look
angled. it looks parallel to the ground. is that what i’m looking for? or is it a
little more complicated.
i’ve read a messload of posts and now am trying to fill in the blanks.
