check it, a few of us from 1977 went down to leovinci scoot a couple weekends ago and dynoed some of our race bikes, unfortunately they where not yet tuned or tested for the most part and where hoping to tun on the dyno, Dan was able to get his bike tuned up pretty good, Lee had his bike running well, and craigs bike was in a completely horrid state. My bike was untuned and we ran outta larger jets to really get a good run with it as I had to cover the intake with my hand while testing to try and manually restrict the airflow. Paz had his bike pretty dialed in and came up with an impressive hp #.
overall we learned that 24 mikunis give more power then smaller dellorto carbs back to back on the same setup, and that wide powerbands are significantly better vs peak hp for racing. A well tuned points ignition can rev higher then expected and produce hella power on moped applications. Also to come more prepared next time.
all in all this short vid pretty much sums up the experience of dynoing mopeds for the 1st time, it was a lot of fun.
