so okay, question. i just reread the variator notching mod thread and i am still a bit confused. how far down are the notches supposed to go? and one question that didnt seem to get answered is what keeps the weights from flying out?

basically, i want more bottom end. my hobbit flies like a bat out of hell once you hit 10-15 mph, but off the line its almost embarrassing. if i just drill out the weights like K&R Tech was saying, i would think it would be right on with the low end, but the idea of being able to open that variator up even more is intriguing as hell. i mean who can argue with a higher top speed?

maybe its just because its late, but i have spent the last hour reading these variator mod threads and i cant seem to find what i’m looking for here. who has done the notch mod with success and what weight rollers did you wind up using? if i drill them out to 10g, do you think that would be enough weight to open the variator all the way? i would experiment, but it seems like these rollers arent really the easiest things to come by and i would hate to render them utterly useless.
