For the best performance all around you would mod the variator, then choose the lightest weights that are still heavy enough to open your variator all the way.

Agreed.

The PA50I weights, on my PA50II with a LeoVince do have enough weight to open the variator all the way. Top speed was about 43MPH (on the speedo – I don’t own a GPS).
