Honda Hobbit Kills when stopped

I just bought a Honda Hobbit (1979). It’s my first moped, so i’m still learning how these things work. I’ve been mostly interested in bicycles & motorcycles until now. Anyway, my Hobbit seems to start up just like it should… perhaps a bit cold blooded at first, but that probably goes with being a Honda. The problem is, it kills every time i have to bring it to a stop. Does it need the idle adjusted? Carb cleaned? Or is the clutch not fully disengaging & bogging it down? what would be the first thing to check?

also, does anybody know of a manual online for this bike?
