Rebuilt motor - crank seems stuck...

So I’ve rebuilt my A3 motor – I’ve had a ton of trouble pressing things out/ in, apart / together – as I don’t have a hydrolic press… I ended up using some wood and c-clamps plus pullers to do everything I needed to do… I tried the bolt suggestion that someone mentioned to pull the cases together – and ended up snapping the bolt! Anyway…. problem is now that I’ve pressed the side case on I think I’ve either tightened the gear bolt too much or the screwed something up in reassembly like the orientation of the break spring – because now the crank shaft seems stuck. I haven’t tried to put the fly wheel on – because now I’m thinking I have to open it up again.

One other question I had was does the break spring on the pedal shaft get oriented pointing to the back /up or forward in the little cut-out between the crankcase…

If anyone has any idea’s as to what the problem could be or have come across this type of issue please chime in!
