Alternator Problem '77 Express

In replacing the points in this 1977 Express NC50, 2 tiny plastic rings fell out of the case. I can’t tell where they should go. Now I am not getting spark to the plug, so I think I am grounded somewhere and these rings have something to do with it. They are made of the same material as the plastic washers that are used in wiring the points up.
Any information would be apprecuated.
