Tomos doesn't start, has spark...

I just acquired a Tomos Bullet I believe its around 1978 model. I have checked all the things i know how and it still wont start.

First I checked for compression and spark. Both ok.

Second i took of the carb and cleaned it. it was pretty spotless. air filter good.

Third checked the brakelights – both bulbs work.

There is gas getting to the carb and everything seems to be in order.

It still wont start. any ideas? This model you pedal backwards to get started. odd.

Could this be a timing issue? the guy i bought it off of said it might be a bad coil? could this be? i get spark so i am not sure if it would be.

PLEASE HELP!
