CARB AIR LEAK! bing

i have a re-occurring issue with air leaks at the “mouth” of the carbs.(on numerous bikes) usually at the “window” next to where the bolt clamps the mouth to the intake on bings. i have been just sealing it with atv,but it’s messy and looks like shit. what is a common reason for this leak, and what is a better solution? is my shit just all gnarled up and not completely round causing the leak?

also, i use the carb cleaner test alot to check my seals…...should there be ABSOLUTELY be no change in idle when spraying down , or is a little bog not a big deal?
