The Indian is a clone of the Honda PC50. On the PC50 there is a switch built into the steering lock. When you turn the handlebars and turn the switch, a pin rises and locks the steering and at the same time kills the engine. Is the Indian the same?

As far as performance, what you have is about all you are going to get. Have you thought about taking the head off and raising the compression?
