did you apply heat? an ample amount of torch heat really helps. i made my own 35mm socket out of alum and I though ti would strip the soft alum socket first, but with heat it came off like butter. First i got it nice and hot with a simple propane torch, I tried but it wouldnt budge, then while it was still hot i hit it with some lube, then i torched it again, then i put the socket back on and it came off like no shit. Plus having the vise bolted down will help, i actually spun my vise on its rotating base, took a few whacks with the hammer to keep the vise from spinning
and again heat is gonna make the fixed cheek easier to remove too, use a big ass pipe wrench
