Unless there is something wrong with the drive shaft leave it in place.
If you are referring to the seals on the crank, those are easy and cheep to source. If you need a set I can pick em up locally $15 + shipping for both. If you are talking about the seal on the drive shaft I don’t know I have never had one leak and have never needed to remove said shaft.
Expect to render the stock seals un-usable they tend to be really tight against the case walls from years of heating and cooling. Mine usually look like funnels after I beat em out.
