1. What is the main problem here?
2. Is there a problem with performance, or the exhaust?
3. Take the head off if you want to get a good idea as to what’s going on in the combustion chamber/port area. If you fear carbon is rearing it’s ugly head you need to undo the 4 nuts around the spark plug hole, pull the head off and inspect the crown of the piston and the squish (combustion) zone of the head. The will more than likely be small black patches here and there.
With the exhaust off and the head off spin the motor over by hand and watch the piston move down into the crank case below the exhaust port. This will give you a good look at the walls of the cylinder so you can check to see if there’s any gouging or scrapping from carbon or debris in the cylinder.
In most 2 stroke motors the exhaust an intake port go directly into the cylinder… there are no valves, or cams, or rockers or ANYTHING else in that section of the motor… just 1 hole for intake, 1 hole for exhaust and a piston.
