Okay, I’m going to try my best to describe this, although I’m not very experienced with these things yet – bare with me.
So I’ve recently been learning how to work on my ped (‘75 Puch Maxi S): taking apart the carb and cleaning it, removing the exhaust and cleaning it, etc. Well, today I wanted to clean some of the engine surface off, so I removed the carb (to get it out of the way) and got a degreaser and sprayed a bit, rinsed it off a bit and wiped it down.
When I went to start it, it was smoking. Not from the exhaust but from the engine. So I took the carb back off and looked to make sure I didn’t disrupt anything while I was cleaning it. I noticed a small hose back behind the carb that looks sort of like the fuel line hose, but I’m not sure where it’s coming from. There is a lot of wiring coming out from the same place as this small hose; it seems to be coming from the generator.
If anyone knows what I’m talking about could you please help. Does this hose need to be connected to something? Could this be causing my engine to smoke?
Anything helps, thanks.
