I was right there with you. when i got my qt50 3 years ago i had the same problem/s. You need to go through everything and clean it. they are from the 1980’s so keep that in mind. just go ahead and ditch the factory air box and filter. that thing is like a big choke. mine would only do 20mph with it. now i have a k&n style one and it will go 30mph now. take off and clean your fuel petcock out with some carb cleaner or such. and remove and clean out your carb. take it completely apart and clean everthing. then you should be cruising good.
