bravo no spark

got a bravo, with signals and all that, and im putting in a 2 coil engine, im testing the power coming off the coils with a voltmeter, im getting power to the red plug in and the wire coming off the coil that comes out, but im not getting power from the wire that comes off the points and out of the engine, ive replaced the points and swapped the coil that runs to the points. my gap looks good and everything else gets power, i dont have anything hooked up im just checking the power straight off of the stator. the engine ran fine when it was in another bike, so this is a little weird. any ideas?
