Moby Stalling/POWER Problems

I have recently restored a 1979 motobecane 50v. I have replaced the condenser, plug, cables, and just put a new dellorto sha 15/15 carb on her. She starts and runs fine for the first 5 minutes. Then i have no power!! It will stall, I can restart but she runs real slow, slower than with the stock gurntner carb. I had more power and it would run longer before stalling with the stock carb. I thought the new carb with the 57 jet would solve my power robbing problems, but it seems to have gotten worse, I am frustrated with this, it has been a on going problem for months. It seems like I have plenty of compression. Any ideas of what might be causing this lack of low end power and stalling? I have also noticed little splatterings of a black greasy substance on and around the variator and on the engine and my left foot…...what could this be?
